There are several different vanadium recovery processes. The conventional extraction process uses salt roast.
However, there are new processes which claim very high vanadium recovery.
VanadiumCorp has an international patent application WO2018152628 which:

It uses sulphuric acid digestion.
The process is said to achieve 95% recovery of vanadium.

TNG also has its proprietary TIVAN process, but I don't know what recovery rate they claim.
