It seems that the MPs themselves were somewhat confused by what the bill represented so no wonder its kind of hazy. But the consensus, and further to Neutro's find, is that not only should Uranium as a waste product not be an issue but might potentially be exploitable given the dates the permits were issued. And all the MPs seem to be in agreement that nothing should be put n place that prevents the mining of battery metals.
But you raise a good point on the Green culture - do we really want to get to the EPA stage asking that we dig up and exploit uranium? This could backfire IMO. We'll almost certainly get all the way to the Environmental assessment stage. From there, I think we'll come up against some heavy debate. Better to go in as a polymetal play that wants the Vanadium.
