now, to have a stab at answering your question:

a PJ = 1,000,000 GJ

so, Tey have inferred 780,000,000,000 GJ

in origins defence of the BG takeover bid, they argued that the BG offer UNDERvalued origin at between 50c-70c per GJ.

so, lets use the lowest GJ value of 50c.


780,000,000,000 GJ X 50c = $390B



now we need to discount that for a) the resource is "inferred"; b) we dont know how much they can extract/harvest, convert & sell.

so, lets assume only 1%

$390B / 0.01 = $3.9B


so, it all comes down to that 1% - is it too ambitous? should we use 0.1% and only value it at $390m????
