    Hi all
Apologies for my un educated question but .

I'm trying to do some research on valuing geothermal
reservers . But am having little to no luck .

Finding only statements like the ones below .

''Traditional valuation methodologies used across a range of industries, including standard valuation metrics based on net present value (NPV) or internal rate of return (IRR) approaches, are not applicable to the geothermal industry at the current stage of development. Initial calculations based on enterprise value to energy reserves ratios (EV/Reserve) have been abandoned due to the uncertainty in the magnitude and the timing of commercialising ''

    reserves.''http://www.activatedlogic.com/industry-focus-geothermal-australian-industry.html
    and
A standardised and trusted approach to geothermal energy resources and reserves classification and estimation is required for the stability of our industry.

The other key categorisation is based upon the commercial viability of extracting energy from the resource. Adopting the SPE approach would mean having “Reserves” defined as the part of the resource that is commercially extractable and “Resource” as the subcommercial component.

Commercial viability depends on a range of technical and economic factors making this a potentially complex issue. We suggest that it is probably not practical to have an economic model as part of the reserves assessment, so this could best be achieved through some industry guidelines for what is commercial in the context of the conversion technology that is expected to be applied to the resource.

Will the geothermal sector shortly have a means of valuing these reserves in the same way that the CSM sector values P1 ,P2 P3 reserves .

I'm just doing some research as the current share price amazes me seeing the size of the reserve they have and the small cost of the infrastructural requirements that are needed to supply the energy to the grid compared to other geothermal companies .

I notice on the resent announcement they use the term INFERREED to discript the reserve .
Once AGL start there conformation drilling is this when the real fun will start . And a true value of Torrens 780,000 pj reserve can be calculated ..

    thanks .
