Lindsays requires fine grinding to 75 microns, to recover 90%. The cost of consumables / power / wear depends on whether its hard or soft ore. So can't guess costs on the limited info I know, but can make some general comments.
- 90% at 75 microns is a low grind size for a normal ball mill to consistently achieve
- likely power usage of around 20 kW per cubic metre of ore (average hardness)
- power usage increases with smaller grind size, but doesn?t go exponential until under 30 microns (with specialised mills), so 75 is ok
- a 75 grind and normal processing implies non-refractory ore (thats good as refractory ore is to be avoided - requires extra processing and /or an ultra fine grind down to 10 microns).
Cheers Beers. Made me think so thanks for the question.
