I am pretty naive at times but also a bit of an optimist. I might be seen as a bit whacky and have a "kangaroo loose in the top paddock" but I sent this email to BioProspect. I'll let you know the reply. It could be a bit of a laugh or rather embarrassing. But as my Dad once said...if you don't ask you will never know.
"Hello BioProspect.
I am a shareholder and was wondering if any other research has been conducted using Termilone. I note that BioProspect has discontinued research with termites but was curious if it could be used in other fields.
For example it's use on fleas, rose mites, perhaps head lice, lawn beetles, and even the common household ant. I live in Safety bay in WA and we are in-undated with small black ants. It would be interesting to know if it has any effect on these ants, even if it was to hold them up for 4 months, which would be longer than present products on the market (and safer).
Have any trials been done to see if it is a replacement for citronella oil, which is burnt in candles etc. to deter mosquitoes? I understand that the cost to market compared to cost of production was a determining factor in ceasing progress with Termilone. There may be an untapped market here and the product may even be viable in far smaller doses for the above ideas.
I know it is basically a insecticide but has it been trialled on any fungus. Jarrah die back comes to mind.
Just my thoughts as it would be a pity that since it seems to have passed many toxicity tests that there is still an untapped market out there."
