My post was pure sarcasm. Not only did George Bush create a dangerous power vacuum in the middle east his father George Bush senior cost me a first class honours degree as I spent my nights watching the first US invasion of Iraq live on telly instead of studying for my exams. How different my life could have been.

So it looks like those oil filled scud missiles sent to the US by OPEC have taken an immediate toll on the oil price. Good news for us as it will accelerate the process of gutting and quartering US shale after which OPEC will go back to the good old days of being a price maker again.
