Any sanctions they put on China is just going to hurt their own business as a lot of the US big business is based in China such as car and parts makers and famous brand makers as well like Harley Davidson, Gibson and many many other US brands.
They wont go back to the US as China is so much cheaper.
This imo is a very self destructive attitude by the US which will also hurt the US importers and business in the US because China will ramp up its taxes on exports which will mean almost everything will go up in the US and other countries like Australian and the EU.
