80% of US citizens live pay check to pay check, 10% are in poverty. I'd guess similar numbers in Australia.
most people wouldn't have a clue about investing in an index or fine art, let a lone be able to afford it. If they could afford to put some money aside this group would save dollars in the bank or under the bed or wherever and get nowhere while tax and inflation eat their savings, all while they're not even aware of what's going on.
The financial system screws the majority, but hey as long as GDP is increasing everything is all good. Rich get richer, poor get poorer, you know how it goes.
If only the US could have stuck to their constitution they would have remained a beacon of light for the rest of the world.
