sim gold potential & uranium
HCY just announce gold discovery in the Bardoc area which SIM has leases and had been drilling there as well. With gold price going up and SIM uranium assets with 16M shares, this got to be a good punt.
Scimitar (SIM) got leases and had been drilling in the Bardoc area as well. Back on 17/02/05, SIM announce the following :
Level 2, 679 Murray Street, West Perth WA 6005 Ph: (+618) 9321 3211 Fax: (+618) 9321 6878 PO Box 285, West Perth WA 6872 Web: www.scimitarresources.com.au ACN 102 912 783 17th February 2005 ASX Release HIGH GRADES INTERSECTED AT BARDOC TECTONIC ZONE PROJECT Scimitar Resources Limited (ASX Code: SIM), has completed a Reverse Circulation drilling program at the Goongarrie prospect as part of the farm in agreement with Cazaly Resources Limited (ASX Code: CAZ). The Goongarrie prospect, 90 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie, forms the northern part of the more regional Bardoc Tectonic Zone project (BTZ). The program conducted during January and early February 2005 comprised twelve holes for a total of 1,854 metres. Drilling targeted several ore horizons 400 metres north of the New Boddington and Franks Dam open pits. Several broad zones of gold mineralisation and high grade quartz veins were intersected by the drilling. Significant results from the program include; 10 m @ 9.62 g/t Au including 3 m @ 26.65 g/t Au 12 m @ 1.61 g/t Au 2 m @ 19.06 g/t Au 2 m @ 10.96 g/t Au 3 m @ 5.38 g/t Au The gold mineralisation is hosted within a north trending package of chlorite schists, strongly foliated basalt and altered gabbros at the intersection of two broad shear systems. Gold mineralisation is typically associated with carbonate, biotite and chlorite alteration of the country rock in conjunction with quartz veining and coarsely crystalline disseminated arsenopyrite, pyrite and chalcopyrite. The recently completed program indicates the potential for further significant shear hosted, high grade gold mineralisation at depth and along strike. This exploration drilling intersected significant high grade gold mineralisation within several ore zones. It indicates the BTZ project has the potential to provide the company with a mining operation in the short to medium term by targeting near surface mineralisation and taking advantage of the significant infrastructure in the Kalgoorlie region.
