Appreciate very much both of you expanding on the discussion on my measure. My initial intention is as Eshmun is pointing out. However, I accept Jogo's argument that if the 1 000 is a constant scaling factor without the $ unit, then I have an oz^2 measure. But, in Jogo's interpretation, my measure is like the standard deviation or variance, that is a numerical measure and may not have an intuitively easy physical explanation. However, regardless of that, the measure is comparable, even if it may not have a meaningful interpretation.
However, my initial intention is as Eshmun is saying.
I think regardless of who is right, the measure should still yield some value in helping one ascribe value to various gold miners out there.
