EOS seems to be getting there, I wonder when these trial results are due as further contracts seem likely?

US begins trials of light remote weapon station

The US Army has begun assessment of a new 'light' remote weapon station for possible application to a wide range of combat support platforms.

Four prototypes of the new design have entered testing at Aberdeen Proving Ground prior to planned field deployment in Iraq.

To date the army has fielded two different remote weapon stations: approximately 800 Kongsberg Protech AS XM151 'Protector' systems in the Stryker Brigade Combat Teams and approximately 70 (out of 259 under contract) Recon/Optical Inc XM101 Common Remotely-Operated Weapon Stations (CROWS).

The new 'light' versions entering assessment are based on the XM101 CROWS. (This is the Recon/eos weapon)
