For years of my life I have worked in Indonesia, including East Timor Prior to independence. Just north from Dili is an Island called Wetar which is copper and gold to the east is Freeport Irian Jaya Western Papua worked there also, to the west is Sumbawa Newmont copper & gold. This is the Pacific Ring of fire and full of minerals again same as Andes many Copper & Gold mines along the ring of fire in Indonesia and Papua extending out in to the pacific ocean the last being Lihir Gold New Ireland Group all punching big weight copper & gold. Yes there is a very good chance in East Timor, It was under military occupation since 1980s when Indonesia invaded and claimed the zone and some Australia journalist were ambushed and killed. The area sits in line with many other copper and gold strikes and has good possibilities and is somewhat unexplored due to the years of conflict and hard rule nobody was allowed to roam around basically military rule for decades.
