Offshore opportunities is all about knowing where to look. There is a group called Spire Capital who distribute a number of opportunities from US managers. http://spirecapital.com.au/funds/ I have invested in two of the earlier ones. They are quite different to the ones I have been talking about, very much a total return proposition, being value add plays. Not for everyone, but suit my plan.
The Charter Hall funds you mentioned do have relatively low leverage which is one of the reasons I like them. Although they were higher a few years ago.
