I think the issue is that most that are following this stock have a position which they are happy with or which they do not wish to extend (based on entry/break even position). Therefore - new investors are required to change the SP. That said - for those that wish to accumulate - the is an opportunity to do so without sharp spikes which is much better (IMO) than a share that fluctuates in price significantly.
GGEs value is in the cash as well as the potential reserves as estimated in the company Anns. The positive thing at the moment (as you have indicated) is that given the track record of cost management - cash should be building which will enable the company to drill other wells or look to other ventures. Either way - GGE's results appear to be very good compared to some of the other equivalent O&G companies.
btw - the half yearly result had a "Gross profit increased from $902,727 to $1,533,391 (an increase of 70%)" on prior period, not $6M per year. Refer GGE Half Yearly Report(http://imagesignal.commsec.com.au/docserver/01494926.pdf)
