I'm thinking the Liverpool plains crop will be well below average. Probably 2 tonnes per hectare compared to 4 tonnes or better normally. It's pretty much relied on stored soil water since it came out of the ground after a flood.
The frost 2 weeks ago doesn't seem to have harmed my crop much, it all seems to be filling. I saw some frost damaged canola a few days ago. Big tall crop with a heap of bulk, but not much oilseed. Lots of crown rot in durum wheat irrespective of rotations, thanks to the dry finish.
Canola harvest getting under way now, barley probably a month away and wheat 6 weeks.
Only a tiny amount of dryland summer crop is in, and no rain forecast. Irrigated looks great though with full dams everywhere.
