Has any mining in Sweden not faced local opposition? This is how it always starts. There will always be some locals wanting to save some swamp land and shale. But I get it too. The uranium experience with the shales was not a good one. There's community work to be done.
the envionmental lobby in Sweden is powerful and no way to placate them really. Same thing with copperstone - locals opposed, municipality rejected their application and the environmental lobby opposed it.
