There might be something in the wind yet, RJ.

I rarely write that something's about to happen -- mainly because I'm the last to know :-)

But look at today's trades. TXN was a ghost town until 3:30pm, when a consistent stream of a dozen trades began -- the entire day's volume of 130k shares. About 1/3 of these were cross-trades (but not sure if broker trades have significance here). Also, though difficult to tell after hours (buyers/sellers pull out their trades), the sell side is much lower than usual, quite close to buy volume.

Maybe this is nothing, but the unusual volume characteristic along with 4% price jump might mean some news is on the way after all.
