I think the article really shows is what the problem family zone is trying to solve for.
Apple make money with people usining their phones more and more. They won’t build a program to slow this. However, what they could do is acknowledge the problem but work with 3rd parties, like FZO, to have their solution available to parents and easily functionable with their product. Families would need to take the next step to control internet use. Apple wouldn’t want to make this easy for them, so they wouldn’t supply the solution themselves.
Also with the schools model in Aus and globally, the key for FZO remember, is that the filtering works the same while at school and home. IF Apple ever did anything they would need to be creating something that works together with multiple platforms or servers. We all know Apple create an eco system, and schools shifting to an Apple system would be unlikely given the high cost. In the US Schools, Apple don’t dominate the market due to the cost and their need to be converted to an ecosystem for greatest effect.
