TXN's announcement about "tested at rates of 1,751 bopd" is very likely the official IP results. All of TXN's previous initial well results also refer to initial tests or flow rates; they don't mention "24-hour" or "7-day" IP rates. Furthermore, these "test" results are later listed in TXN production reports as "initial production" (IP) rates (not sure if 24-hour or longer).

For example, in Aug 2011, TXN announced its 3rd EF well "tested oil and gas at the rates of 1,488 bopd". This 1488 bopd is listed in a later announcement as "Initial Production results". In October 2011, XN announced that it's 4th EF well "has flowed oil and gas at the rates of 1,408 bopd and 922 mcfgpd" (1562 boepd). Again, this figure was documented as the well's IP rate.

After initial flow, the choke is typically reduced, which usually (but not always) reduces the flow rate. Natural decline is also fairly steep for horizontals. Here are some examples of "test" vs 30-day results to indicate what we might expect from the 30-day results:

3rd EF (Tyler Ranch EFS #2H)
Test (IP): 1605 boepd (16/64" choke)
    30-day: 30,400 (1013 boepd)

    4th EF (Hoskins EFS #1H)
Test (IP): 1562 boepd (18/64" choke)
    30-day: 23,780 (792 boepd)

For comparison, here are this week's well results:
    6th (Hoskins EFS #3H)
Test (IP): 2007 boepd (22/64" choke)

30 day results might be very good because of the high pressure (3201 psi) on a much larger choke than previous wells. TXN's previous EF wells had initial pressure ranging from 2000 to 3000 psi on smaller chokes.

These are just my interpretations of TXN announcements and I'm not an oil engineer. In other words, please DYOR.
