All this talk about curtailing investment in coal as a source of energy, especially in third world countries leaves me more than a bit mystified.
The reason: what is the affordable alternative for third world countries? Nuclear? I don't think so, not after recent problems at any rate! Solar? Too expensive for now to cater for the anticipated increase in demand. What else is available in the required quantities at affordable prices?
Really, I would like to know what the Greens from developed countries have in mind.
