According to articles I have read, the US market moves at the end of last week were made in anticipation of a rate rise in December. The US market was overvalued in my opinion for it's fundamentals, and may still have a little further to fall, unless a geopolitical shock hits, in which case it could still fall substantially.

The SPI is down another 37 points for tomorrow, so your low ball bid may well get filled. If it does, I think you will have purchased at an excellent price for the medium term. May buy some more myself, although will have to free up funds.
