Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) has rejected threats from US Ambassador Richard Grenell. Grenell had announced that cooperation with the German secret service would be limited or even terminated - should Germany, the Chinese group Huawei participate in the expansion of the fast 5G mobile network. Merkel clearly rejected this.
merkel has also told america to get lost in relation to america trying to get germany to stop buying russian gas - particularly nord stream 2 expansion. merkel said that the russians provided gas during the cold war - and circumstances are no different.

The Trump administration has imposed sanctions on countries that buy oil from Iran, and will reconsider in May whether to continue granting exemptions to countries heavily reliant on crude from Tehran, such as China and India.
