NZ is only a small country but it has eyes. 5 Eyes. The NZ Government knows every aspect of Turkey's leadership games, false flags, al Qaeda & ISIS support, internal pogroms and so on. Erdogan's disgraceful ANZAC comments and threats have been responded to by a NZ PM that actually knows the hidden detail.
Turkey is a wonderful country. It retains future potential to be the focal point between cultures and regions, however it can only realise that dream with a governance structure that is inclusive, tolerant, self critical and based on a rule of law. Empire is only ever sustainable where there is a degree of tolerance and inclusiveness and the Ottoman Empire did thrive under sultans who understood this.
Combinations of angry faces, inflammatory insults, intolerance, sectarianism, religious fanaticism, fascist salutes, (pretend) neo-Ottoman expansionism and ongoing hot and cold wars on each and every border do strangely win votes but won't do anything to encourage investment in Turkey or remediate ongoing financial catastrophe.

The anon op-ed posted by no opinion is a fabricated disgrace with the usual structure of some truth to support fictional spin. The author is a fool. All the pro-NATO senior officers in the Turkish military have been purged. All of them. The Turkish Government is not a NATO ally, a US ally or even a Russian ally. The current regime is a Muslim Brotherhood ally. The author needs to do some freeking research!
