Mine operated from 1917 to 1990. Closed due to poor tungsten prices. Put on care and maint and allowed to flood.

The story here is potentially similar to the current madness for rare earths. The market is small and all the supply comes from China, and when they cut exports everyone panicked and the prices went sky-high. Tungsten production also a small market dominated by China. No indication they plan to cut exports, but the rare earths move surprised everyone.

KIS is a good one to tuck away for a long time - if it ever moves it will be dramatic. KIS management should act accordingly and find another project to focus on. Trying to redevelop this mine now not realistic.
