austted, I am a hopeless TA, and I recommend you have a look at a few of dgoransson's posts, especially over on PRR where he is describing it quite nicely.
My read on it - the botty will load up both buy and sell sides because they already have so many shares it doesn't matter, more than you and I will ever have.
They can then sell to themselves downwards, forcing the price downwards and not be out of pocket by even a cent, passing stocks out one pocket and then in the other and they also don't need to pay transaction fees which is the real crime and allows them to manipulate the price as they choose.
Forcing the price down will force mom and dad punters to sell out in fear it is losing pace. Each day they bump it up to give us hope and then slowly drain away our hope and inevitably we sell. This allows them to buy at the lowest possible price. Eventually however the mom and dad supply will run out. They may slam it down lower to trigger the last of the stop losses but inevitably will need to let the price rise to bring in a whole new bunch of mom and dads to pilfer from.
This is common practice in any stock. I sometimes think that instos have a roster which they work to so as to hammer every stock and not step on each others toes, but thats just just a conspriacy theory. Anyway, I was glad to graph the last three days as I think it really confirms the accumulation theory.
There was something odd about today, I saw this behaviour on many stocks, seems like a real accumulation day, possibly and hopefully, the smart money is getting in low before a large market push, which is a good thing for all of us.
Another important point that dgoransson would mention is the volume. The past few days has seen decreasing volumes which suggests testing of lows. I think a lower finish today, say 2.41 would have been better so the 2.43 may be a bit either way tomorrow. It doesn't matter imo if one is holding longer term. I still believe in the fundamentals of TSE as does MQG, otherwise they wouldn't be buying in big time.
Please, its all my uneducated opinion so take it with the grain of salt it deserves.
