"The Kurds have no claim to any territory in Syria or in Iraq , their actions in the wars clearly were against the host nation ......I can understand a claim to territory in Turkey though , but that is a fat NO from the Sultan . " Notwithstanding a continued Kurdish presence in the region for thousands of years .
Given Trump's decision to leave Syria, the Kurds will be forced turn to Assad. There are 2 possible timelines we can now follow.
Option 1. Assad continues to tout the crap seen in TW's posts demanding full dictatorial control and hegemony over the peoples of the North. This will lead to splits within the SDF which will in turn allow Turkish annexation of North Syria. In these circumstances Assad's regime will remain a 2nd class vassal of Iran.
Option 2 Assad enters into open dialogue with the Northern Federation, allowing this structure to bring many Sunni Arab tribes (now opposing Assad) to a point of mutual acceptance and reconciliation in due course. Nothing much need be instant. 60,000 US trained and battle hardened SDF troops could under an "arrangement" with the SAA and NDF facilitate an indigenous Syrian roadmap and solution. F* Astana.
Will the US actually leave? We can but wait and see but the order has been signed by Trump and US forces must therefore obey that direction.
