" Moscow, SANA – The Russian Foreign Ministry affirmed the need for territories where US forces are present illegally to return under the Syrian state’s authority.
In a press conference on Wednesday, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that the decision to withdraw the US forces should help the political settlement of the crisis in Syria, although there is a lack of clarity in the timetable for this withdrawal.
She noted that the possibility that the US forces could continue carrying out attacks in Syria after their withdrawal continues to raise questions.
Zakharova also said that there are plans to continue communications using the Astana formula for resolving the crisis in Syria as soon as possible.
