I suspect that there are great risks to Lithium demand if the price of cars goes up. Europe, Japan and South Korea might blink, but I doubt it, as they will suspect that Trump is testing their resolve, and plans other protectionist measures if he gets away with this one. It does sound like the automotive sector could be the first big victim of these stupid games. Already there will be a cost increase to US manufacturers and therefore consumers.
