NEW BRAKING TECHNOLOGY AT 2014 ITTES
The ‘Grand Pavilion’ at the heart of the Melbourne Showgrounds is set to become the home of the most comprehensive selection of modern component and ancillary equipment technology Australia has ever seen, when the next International Truck, Trailer and Equipment Show (ITTES) opens its doors in April 2014.
The iconic building will be filled with new technologies from leading brands such as BPW Transpec, Fuwa K-Hitch, SAF-Holland, Meritor, Alcoa and Cummins. In line with the latest industry trends, the main themes will be efficiency and road safety – with a special focus on modern braking technology.
Some of the segment’s most acclaimed experts such as Air Brake Systems will showcase the latest in modern braking technology, including a new innovative electronic trailer air suspension control (eTASC). eTASC is a new suspension control device for trailers, offering advanced functions and benefits compared with conventional and electronic trailer air suspension systems.
“Trailer EBS systems revolutionised the brake system and we believe eTASC will do the same for trailer air suspensions,” said Air Brake System’s National Sales Manager, Glenn Hambleton.
“Since first being introduced back in 2002, Electronic Trailer Brake technology has been very successful and has become a standard specification with many fleet operators and trailer builders in Australia. This is all despite the fact there is still no mandate to fit these systems to all trailer types.”
Meanwhile, industry powerhouse Knorr-Bremse has announced it will double the size of its exhibition stand in 2014. “This year’s ITTES show will be the largest and most comprehensive for Knorr-Bremse in showcasing not just advanced braking product, but complete truck and trailer safety and performance systems through to workshop maintenance training, even extending to driver training simulators and on-track driver training,” General Manager, Rodney Clarke, said.
Less than four months away, ITTES will be the only place showcasing the complete range of transport specific ancillary equipment from the industry’s leading specialist brands in 2014.
