I wont say its a stupid question..... but no that is not the case - CFOAM is an intricate component of the USN contract. ie each exhaust tack is MADE OF CFOAM not moulded from cfoam. The USN has specifically chosen CFOAM as the material because of its unique properties to the incumbent. lighter/stronger/fire resistant/ anti corrosion etc etc.. Each ES now made of CFOAM makes the boat faster, more maneuverable, more fuel efficient and has the ability to last decades longer, so far less need to repair/replace on an ongoing bases. Surely there will be other allies eager to follow the USN's lead
