I'm sure everybody is grateful for you setting them straight Shiva. Still have to wonder why you keep doing it?

    Some counterpoints to your arguments:

The US, UK and Japanese originating firms have no understanding of local law in wherever the patent is being filed. I'd be pretty happy for my attorney to lodge without knowing the local law - not. That makes a lot of sense. Now if synchronisation of global IP law could happen then that would not be an issue. Even you would concede that is not going to happen.

The national phase has been talked about by all three listed vehicles. Where is it? The pilot you referred to as starting in one of your earlier posts has not started - please don't mislead everyone. Even a doomsayer such as yourself would have to agree the world today is less likely to cooperate than it did before and they never did on this issue. It was also never contemplated the local agent would be completely eliminated. They want the person who knows the law to execute the application.

What is true in this industry is there is change happening - technology will change the cost and therefore associated revenue of historical practices. Firms will need to adapt. Commodity type services will become cheaper as they should. The firms can then focus on valued add like GH do.

One way they are doing so is through IPH's approach (and XIP's) is to be on the ground in the high growth regions where IP is being created - Asia and US dominate in this regard. They can then provide a one stop shop for a whole region.

As for partnership being the great bait for young workers. I'd rather own stock or be part of a related incentive scheme in a growing company than in one of your local partnerships that serve the 900 applications per annum that some how are more rock solid!

Ask yourself whether your contact is really subjective about all of this. Maybe he'd like to participate but cant. Is it getting lost in translation when you bring it to this forum for whatever reason - certainly seems so.

The multiple on IPH is high for its growth profile - growth is still there but the price is not cheap imo. The market is re-pricing it as it always does.

That's why I dont own it but that is a much better reason than you have articulated
