Telstra and Vodafone Hutchison Australia have announced their pricing of Apple’s iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c devices.
The new Apple iPhone 5 devices were made available for pre-sale to Australian customers on Friday afternoon.
Telstra customers wanting to buy an Apple iPhone 5c 16GB, which is the cheapest unit available, will need to pay $11 per month on top of a $60 a month plan. By comparison, VHA customers will pay $2 per month on top of a $65 a month plan for the same device.
The higher end Apple iPhone 5S 32GB will cost Telstra users $22 per month on top of a $60 per month contract. VHA customers will pay $12 per month, on top of a $65 per month contract.
This means VHA customers wanting an Apple iPhone 5 with a mobile service must pay between $67 and $83 per month over 24 months on a $65 Red plan. Telstra users will pay between $71 and $90 per month over 24 months on a $60 Every Day Connect plan.
It is understood SingTel-Optus will release its plans next week. The device goes on sale from Friday September 20.
