I think he is right to stand up to China. China is a one way street on many things, not to mention the hundreds of fraudulent companies now listed on foreign exchanges that are publishing fraudulent accounts and basically gutting peoples savings using the mirage of a business then using that money stolen from retirees to buy up hard assets in the very countries they have been ripping off.
Dozens of these sorts of companies on the ASX alone some already delisted by ASIC, some suspended, others already in admin when liquidators appointed by third parties only to find the assets and cash don't exit in the company as reported in the accounts. Most who touched them lost everything within a year or two. Good on Trump for standing up for America.
