Well they are all wrong. A binary event is where one of only two predetermined answers can come, like on or off, zero or one.

The results have an infinite number of possible outcomes, including their degree of success, the placebo's results, toxicology, pain relief etc.

I know "binary event" is a favorite cool term used on HC, but it's always used wrongly.

As the joke goes, there are only 10 different types of people. Those who understand binary, and those who don't!
