Interesting proposition but IMO unlikely given Rex small footprint and the regional focus. Virgin's strategy now is to form international alliances and take market share from qantas's domestic operations, capital cities that is.
Nonetheless I think if an attractive offer is put forward, rex's major Singaporean shareholders would sell. The offer would have to be much higher than current sp, as Rex has been buying back shares @ current prices which indicates tt mgmt thinks the current sp is too low.
