Executive Director/Head of Strategic Banking at ANZ - Resources, Energy & Infrastructure Division (REI)
Jonathon, one of the biggest fish in ANZ seems to be taking an extraordinary interest in PEX...
"....Was delighted to be able to support Rob Tyson from Peel Mining this week taking him to Korea Zinc’s Sun Metals Refinery in Townsville. Thanks again to our respected friends and colleagues at Korea Zinc who were generous hosts and gave Rob an informative tour of their operations. Sun Metals under the leadership of CEO Yun Choi continues to deliver improved performance and has recently announced a $300m expansion. The refinery processes close to 500ktpa of Zinc concentrates producing over 220kt of Zinc metal contributing to Korea Zinc’s position as the worlds largest Zinc, Silver and Indium refiner. Notably the team has made a great success of integrating a 130MW solar farm to source renewable energy and ships all refinery residues back to Korea for further processing and multi-metal extraction, ensuring no need for local tailings disposal. Hopefully the visit will be a source of added insights and inspiration for Rob and the team to keep delivering impressive Zn results....."
Are we foreseeing a future offtake agreement? Why is ANZ so wound in? Could it be the future predicted Asian infrastructure boom .....predicted at $118 trillion? Could ANZ be poised to take out some big shareholders? Could ANZ be now structuring the looming M&A?
