David Irvine served as the head of ASIO under both Liberal and Labor governments, so I would dare say he has connections with both sides of the political spectrum. You've obviously drawn the conclusion that because Lindsay Tanner is also on the board that he must be more closely affiliated with Labor - that may or may not be the case, but to suggest that a Liberal government is a barrier is, imo, ridiculous.

As for the MD getting 5 weeks annual leave, so everyone must get 5 weeks annual leave - that's laughable. I certainly have some concerns at present, but laziness of the leadership group would not be one of them.
