'The industry has not been using INL's IP, they have been using a process which INL have developed an IP for that improves the efficiency of.
The current process used by the industry is to apply anionic polyacrylamide flocculant to the coal slurry as it enters the thickener. However, the industry is frustrated with the current coagulant approach as they cannot determine the optimal dosing regime for coagulants, given the characteristics of the slurry feed are always changing.
This is where the INL IP improves the process by providing real time measurement of slurry characteristics that automates when to dose with coagulant; the correct dosage rate of coagulant; and when to stop coagulant dosing.
So the INL technology (IP) is new, its the process that has been used in the past, but used ineffectively.
Now if the industry has been using or used this process in the past, but has ceased using it due to inefficiencies, what are the chances they will start using the process again, or switch to the INL IP that works more efficiently?
I reckon there would be an uptake of close to 100% of coal mines wouldn't you?
