Stupid? Everybody had the same opinion of Hewitt when he started out just like atomic and NK... he was considered a grab.
People forget about all the controversy like calling out black umpires etc
Yes Hewitt had determination but had a wonderful era of about 3-4 yrs where the old guard were being replaced by new guard as I pointed out. I know Fed was similar age but he never got going until early 20’s...... Hewitt was finished by 24.
Jim Courier only won 2 Aussie opens as the big boys back then never turned up. Ok it’s not s fluke but it’s winning winning the second division
