Actually: it is a little 'bent', because of wrong footwear,  when stretched it is a little longer than big toe - nowadays I wear mostly sandals and not the instruments of torture of my youth.
The Greeks thought it was a beautiful characteristic, hence most of their classical statues have that toe - the Egyptians went in for symmetry and the feet on their rather boring statues are perfect.
About 20-30% of the population have that characteristic - Megan Markle has an extra long second toe.  Some people claim it is a sign of intelligence, but some people will 'go to any length to prove what they haven't got'  right?
