As someone already mentioned there is probably a Chinese buyer lined up to buy the asset as soon as it has been removed from SRK and the other parties.
If the Chinese group will pay 100m why wouldn't you offer 60m and pocket the difference the next day?
That's maybe why all three parties bid, otherwise they would all collude and other the lowest price possible which is what I would have expected???
remember there was an offer for US650m for this asset in 2008 so at 100m its still a steal.
