the loans were convertable into more equity in AF so they were essentially earning a greater equity interest by providing the loan. It was used to advance the project but then the project ran into social/commnunity issues.
after the last dispute dragged on they put the shoot out process in place to avoid further delays. SRK initiated the process because they could acquire 100% of the project which was more than the would receive by converting the loan to equity.
it is messy and has been going nowhere for years but the shoot process was deisgned to put and end to it once and for all
