Again, you tell me that with a winning bid of potentially $501 they go and offer $27mil to "gain the project for the shareholders"? Sorry mate but this just isn't how business works especially when the other side are all "related parties".

I put to you that the outcome of this whole process lies in that crazy bid of $27mil from a business point of view. What we don't know unfortunately, is the rationale behind it as we're not privy to all the T & C's of the shootout clause but imo the next phase of this shootout lies all with that silly bid and the payment or non-payment of it and the likely circumstances that follow this.
