I would be inclined to disagree with you.

If the $27.5mn bid proved to be false then SRK will end up with 100% of the project, which is arguably much more valuable than the cash and loan repayment alternative. Along with something like $16mn+ in cash on the balance sheet.

The recent coverage of SRK over this shootout process has had the effect of introducing the company to a much wider number of active investors (me included).

It has all served to underline the inherent value in SRK and this can only be good for the SP, once the current ongoing capping at 16c is finished with.

I do see both outcomes as extremely positive for the company.

After all if SRK should end up with 100% of AF they will be able to shop it around the majors themselves and will doubtless be able to wring a much a higher price out of any farm in or outright sale.

Sure it won't be the $450mn from 4 years ago but what would half that or even quarter of that do to SRK's mkt cap.

I really do see it as a win / win with the bigger win being capitalised on by SRK losing (ie not receiving the $27.5mn + loan repayment but taking 100% control instead).

All good imo.
