Hi Ausheds,

Though the U/Th in ore may be of a low % it is the % in the saleable mixed bag that counts. If the grade of TREO in the ore is 1% to concentrate this to a grade of 50% will require a concentration factor of 50X.

Therefore, if an ore has a concentration of 80 ppm of U/Th and the grade of the TREO is 1% when the grade of TREO is increased to 50% then the U/Th will be increased to 80 x 50 = 400 ppm, which I believe is .04%. I believe this will be a problem and IMHO will require chemical processing to remove the Uranium and Thorium.
