I have no idea what the actual product was or is like. I only know that it is horrendously loss making for TLS and NWS over the years. It appears to only be used for sports fans, the main market, and only because the anti-siphoning laws brought in by an ALP Government have been castrated by LNP and ALP administrations ever since.
The ALP under Shorten appears to me to be populistic on matters like this according to their platform or manifesto. So I would have thought the churn rates of subscribers, losses on top of the existing losses will only get worse as the ALP goes back to putting more sports on the anti-siphoning list.
can’t see how else a Shorten Government would treat FoxTel when they get elected. The TLS/NWS thing of giving all the MPs and staffers free FoxTel and tickets to things might succeed with some but I doubt the populist ALP position will give much credence to that little barrel of a gift or “fringe benefit”.
