You are right about 1 thing here Woody, and that it is fanciful to think that you (or any other MIS punter) will make any money out of these schemes.

The only people to profit from these schemes were the promoters and their dealers (read financial advisers). They have taken their money and are long gone (but not forgotten!)

The rest of us, including the ATO, have well and truely been skinned.

It is interesting to note that even when the trees were free and someone else paid for them to be cleared (ie establishment fees from MIS punters), wood exported from the Tiwi Islands still made a loss.

I think that was a lesson for everyone involved, and those that ignore history are bound to repeat it.
