A bit more research -

Tin hit it's last major LME low of 3010 in Nov '08, and tin prices (at the time $15,000/ton) continued to fall for the next 2 months to $10,500/ton before going on a 2yr run which finished in Feb '11 at $32,500/ton, despite tin LME levels rising during this period. Currently LME levels are at 3420, only marginally above the '08 low, and 3 month contracts have tightened to being only $45 different to the cash contract, so....... (from my limited experience of analysing the tin data), with tin LME levels seemingly continuing to tighten, are we at the start of tin pricing pressure that may see tin prices rise again to $25,000/ton or even $30,000+/ton over the next two years if no new mines are coming on line. Metals X with it's partner, is looking at spending $300m! to reprocess the waste from their Mt Renison mine, surely another indicator that many in the industry are predicting marked/further tightening of tin supply and subsequent associated marked price rises. The world is still growing re population so buildings will keep being built, more and more eletrical goods will be made and cars are about to go through another production boom over the next 10yrs with the move to electric vehicles, another industry where zinc appears to have a growing demand te batteries. Metals X has the Mt Bischoff mine on care and maintenance but restarting this mine and reprocessing tailings most likely still won't put a dent in the demand re continued world growth. So, if the director's of srz can continue to progress Hemskirk, they surely srz has a very bright future. These are my thoughts, other's may choose to agree or disagree.
