Hi Hottin, I did read that article re the future of China's export duty on refind Tin....but I don't agree with the last sumise...ie. that removal of the 10% will lead to China placing more refined Tin on the open market....my thoughts - was the 10% imposed to force more use of Tin internally/reduce demand from Tin mines in China re long term goal of improving pollution levels in China....since turning into a net importer (demand has increased), I suspect this will remain the case rather than China suddenly opening old +/- new mines and creating more pollution and returning to a net exporter....another way to look at it is the refiners are complaining they are struggling to make enough money if forced to sell refine tin ore internally, so they need to tax removed to make them more competitive....but this doesn't make sense with the huge volumes of tin ore they are importing....ie. just reduce the volumes imported....so we shall see what happens over the coming 6 months....but suspect with significantly falling grades in Man Maw, China will remain a net importer....and no-one seems to mention India which has a higher growth rate than China, and may do for years to come, and wants to build large numbers of modern cities....eg. local governments are doing everything possible to give NSL as much support as possible re iron % upgrade/production and China is looking to build steel plants there with NSL....world demand for base metals appears to be growing and apparently quicker than it can be brought on stream??....time will tell over the next 6-12 months but suspect SRZ will not stay at these levels for many more weeks/months given the resource they are sitting on...
